The GICHD’s Information Management (IM) Division works to enable national authorities and other actors in the Mine Action sector to leverage information towards evidence-based decision-making and results-based management. The division is composed of an international team of experienced IM advisors who take responsibility for the development of IM capacity within a portfolio of countries. In addition, each team member acts as focal point for a thematic or technical expertise in the field of Information Management.
Responsibilities of the IM Technical Development Coordinator
Serving as overall focal point and coordinator for the Information Management Division’s Technical Development activities;
Providing advisory support to the Head of Division on strategic planning of technical development and support for the 2019-2022 GICHD strategy;
Through the IMSMA Core framework, providing GIS solutions engineering support to colleagues throughout the GICHD as well as external partners as required;
Project managing IMSMA Core technical development and maintenance, including managing related consultancy and service provider contracts;
Staying abreast of technical developments in the field of GIS & IM and advising on their relevance to the division’s work;
Coordinating and convening a regular IMSMA Core expert working group involving key internal and external partners.
Coordinating the Centre’s involvement in the GIS for Peace initiative.
